Letterkenny AC presentation night

Around 120 people attended Letterkenny Athletic Club's annual presentation function in the Mount Errigal Hotel on Friday night.

In his address, club chairman, Gerry Davenport commended all athletes on their efforts over the last 12 months and wished them well as the new season gets underway. Other speakers on the night included Letterkenny Town Mayor, Jim Lynch and councillors Ciaran Brogan, Gerry McMonagle and Jimmy Harte.

The award winners were as follows:

Senior
Overall athlete of year - Pauric McKinney.
Cross country athlete of the year - Pauric McKinney.
Masters athlete of the year - Gary Crossan.
Performance of the year - Maria McCambridge (winning national marathon title).
Road athlete of the year - Kieran Doherty.
Track and field athlete of the year - Dan Mooney.
Female athlete of the year - Maria McCambridge.
Most improved athlete of the year - Charlie Page.
Club Person of the year - Sharon Bradley.

Juvenile
Overall athlete of the year - Darren McBrearty.
Cross country athlete of the year - Christopher Johnston.
Track and field athlete of the year - Mark English.
Indoor athlete of the year - Ruairi Finnegan.
Sportshall athlete of the year - Sheanie Henry
Most improved athlete of the year - Lisa Gibson.
Performance of the year - Darren McBrearty.
Team of the year - under-12 4 x 100 metre team of Oisin Toal, Dara Toal, Ciaran Kelly and Lochlann Purdy.
Under-13 athlete of the year - Natasha McArdle.
