Well done to the LAC team of Ciaran Doherty, Gary Crossan, Darren McBrearty and Danny Mooney who were second in the Rathfarnham 5k in Dublin at the weekend.

Ciaran (10th place) led the team home in a time of 15.16, followed by Darren (15.19- 13th), Gary (15.22-14th) and Danny (15.32- 16th). This was a great achievement and well done to the lads.

Paddy Hoey also competed in a time of 19.20. The club had a number of athletes in the Vets at Finn Valley on Sunday. This weekend the action switches to Killybegs for the Donegal Novice Cross Country Championships on Sunday.

The Gerry Farnan 8k Cross Country International Trials will take place in The Phoenix Park on October 18. The Donegal Senior Cross Country Championships will take place on November 1.

Preparations are ongoing for the Dublin City Marathon. At least six club athletes will go to the line for the 26 mile run around the city.

The club once again appeals to all members to get behind the sponsorship drive in co-operation this year with the Donegal Diabetes Federation.

Sponsorship cards are available from the committee. Please fill in the cards in the coming weeks and return to the club. Well done to Gavin Crawford who ran 35.19 in a 10k at Grange, Sligo on Sunday. The lotto numbers drawn at the weekend were 6, 8 14 and 15. John Bosco Doherty won €80 by matching three numbers. The jackpot this Saturday night in The Glencar Inn is €1,400
