McKinney secures third Buncrana 5K win

Letterkenny AC's Pauric McKinney secured his third Buncrana 5K victory on Wednesday night when winning by a single second after a nip and tuck battle with the Roberts brothers from City of Derry Spartans, Gregory and Collie.

The locally-based school teacher just held off Gregory, the younger of the pair, to win in a time of 15:16. Collie Roberts finished third in 15:21.

This victory will serve as a timely confidence booster to the 44 year old who won the North West 10K in Letterkenny at the start of the month.

Theresa McGloin of Finn Valley continued her good form with another win and set a new course record with her time of 17:13.

Letterkenny AC was well represented and had a total of 16 runners among the field of 172 finishers. Well done to Eoghan and Dara Furey and their organising team on an extremely well run event.
