Letterkenny AC Club Notes

The annual Hickey, Clarke and Langan 5K road race, organised by Letterkenny AC, will take place on Tuesday, May 18th at 7.30 pm. Registrations will be taken at Aura from 6.15 pm, with the presentation of prizes taking place afterwards in the Tir Na Nog Bar. Entry fee is eight euro. Teams, individuals and fun runners are welcome to take part. The race has been held every year since 1978,and given the increase in the numbers running locally, a large entry is expected.

Kieran Doherty of Letterkenny AC set a new course record on Friday night when winning the Ballyshannon 5K road race, with his club mates Ivan Toner and Brian Thursby Pelham second and third in 15:46 and 16:06.Teresa McGloin of Finn Valley also set a new course record and posted a new personal best of 16:51 to win the senior women's race. A record entry of 116 took part in the event. Once again Letterkenny AC was well represented, with 12 taking part and five finishing in the top six.

There was no winner of the club's lotto jackpot on Saturday night. The numbers drawn in the Glencar Inn were 4, 11, 13 and 21. Geraldine McGoohan matched three numbers and wins 80 euro. This week's jackpot will be 1,080 euro.
