Collins wins Lifford 5K

Noel Collins from Omagh Harries made it two wins on the bounce in the Donegal Grand Prix Road Series on Friday night when taking victory in the Lifford 5K in a time of 15:10.

After a nip and tuck battle with James Flanagan of Finn Valley (runner-up in 15:12) and Letterkenny's Pauric McKinney (third in 15:15) the Tyrone man found an extra gear to outkick the pair over the last couple of hundred metres.

Finn Valley's Kay Byrne, who is running as well as ever, took the honours in the senior women's section in a time of 18:29.

Letterkenny's Laura Corbett was first woman over-35 and the club had a total of 23 runners among the field of 88 finishers.
