Letterkenny A.C. Club Notes

THE club will have a number of runners in the Ramelton Festival 5k tonight (Friday) after Tuesday night's Grand Prix race in Dungloe.

Congratulations to our former Olympian, Danny McDaid, who made a welcome return to the racing circuit when he competed in the Burtonport 5k last week. Danny is a role model for all club members and he ran just over 21minutes for the course.

The Danny McDaid 15k race will take place on August 15 at 11.15. The race will begin outside the Ramada Hotel and finish at the Aura Leisure Centre. Registrations will be taken from 10a.m at Aura. The race sponsor once again this year is David Crumlish of Crumlish Appliances and Repairs, Letterkenny. We thank David and his company for their generous support.

The Annual General Meeting of the club will take place on Tuesday, September 8, in The Ramada Hotel at 8p.m. The club presentation night is scheduled for September 25.

The club is holding a fundraising Flag Day on Saturday, August 15 around the town. All club members should have received a flyer about this event. It is imperative that all club members help out and assist in this fundraising venture. For more information contact Garvan McCloksey, Mark Bolton, Sharon Bradley and Laura Corbettt. The club has agreed to support the Donegal Branch of the Diabetes Federation for the forthcoming Dublin City Marathon in October. Our club legend Danny McDaid is Chairman of the Donegal branch and would appreciate any help.
