Doherty makes it two on the bounce

Letterkenny AC's Ciaran Doherty made it two wins on the bounce on Friday night when taking victory in the Churchill 5K. Having taken the honours in Manorcunningham three nights earlier, Doherty had another comfortable win again in what is rightly regarded as the toughest 5K on the local grand prix circuit. His winning time was 16:07, with his club mates, Ivan Toner and Pauric O'Donnell placing second and third in 17:19 and 17:45 respectively. Finn Valley's Teresa McGloin was fastest woman home in a time of 18:47 which placed her 10th overall in a field of 73 runners.
