Letterkenny AC Notes

It's all systems go for Letterkenny AC's annual barbecue which takes place at the club house on Pearse Road on Tuesday, July 13th at 8 pm.

The event will be held in conjunction with international athletes Mark English and Darren McBrearty who are departing for the World Youth Olympics in Singapore in Canada. Also heading off on international duty shortly will be LAC's Emily Greenan who will represent Ireland in the modern heptathlon in Singapore. It's a fantastic achievement for the club to have three athletes competing at world events.

All members, friends and family are welcome. Please support what will be a great social night and an opportunity to give these three international athletes a send off before their upcoming events. 10 euro per individual, 20 euro per family.

Jonathon Patton placed second in Friday night's Rathmullan 5K road race behind City of Derry's Aaron Doherty in 15:57, while Maria McCambridge won the senior women's section in 16:04. Full results are posted on the club website.

Good luck to out senior track and field athletes who compete in the national championships this weekend. The next race on the local circuit takes place in Cranford on Friday night with the 4.2 miler.
