PREPARATIONS are being made for the forthcoming prizegiving night and the Annual General meeting which will take place this month. On the racing front Letterkenny AC's Ciaran Doherty won last Friday night's four mile road race in Brockagh.
He led a field of 99 competitors home and his time of 19:53 was just 12 seconds off the course record set by former national senior cross country champion, Gary Murray. Finn Valley's Ian Ward was second in 20:49 with Ivan Toner of Letterkenny third in 21:20.
A new course record in the women's section was set by the in-form Teresa McGloin. The Finn Valley runner's time of 22:29, which placed her 11th overall, was 34 seconds quicker than the previous record set by her club mate, Noeleen Porter, in 2002. Finn Valley's Catriona McGranaghan was second in 24:59, with Sheila Regan third in 25:42. A full list of results are on our website.
The lotto numbers last weekend were: 1, 17, 23 and 24. Patricia Doherty from Coolboy was a match three winner. The jackpot in The Glencar Inn this Saturday night is €1,280.
Training for the juveniles will recommence on Tuesday. A charge of €2 will be applicable.
