Doherty leads the way in Milford 5K

Ciaran Doherty of Letterkenny AC chalked up another impressive win in the grand prix series when taking victory on Friday night in the Milford 5K. He won in time of 14:52, with the Finn Valley pair of Ian Ward and Kevin Holian second and third respectively in 15:23 and 15:59.

Letterkenny AC's Fionnuala Diver, who gets married next week, was the quickest woman home in 18:17, with her club mate, Sheila Regan, second in 18:27 and Leah Duggan of Milford AC third in 19:27.

The race attracted a record total of 96 runners.
