New Year Message to Letterkenny AC Juveniles

January 2012

With the school holidays now over all juvenile athletes who wish to compete in the Ulster Indoors competition are asked to return to training every Tuesday and Thursday (6.30) and Sunday mornings (to be arranged).

Following a very good representation at Cross Country events prior to Christmas, the focus now turns to Indoor championships. The excitement of competing at the Odyssey Arena Belfast should mean total involvement in training with a view to qualifying for the AAI finals in Nenagh (April).

U/14-U/15-U/16-U/17 Ulster championships are in the Odyssey Saturday and Sunday 11th&12th February while U12-U/13_U/18-U/19 will be held in the Magherafelt complex Saturday 3rd March.

Entry forms are available at training from Neil Cullen and must be returned with entry fee before – for Odyssey (closing date 19th January) and for Magherafelt (closing date 14th February).

Relay teams U14-15-16-17 (Odyssey) and U/12-U/13 Magherafelt will be selected by club coaches following trials at training.

Good luck to all juvenile athletes in 2012.

Congratulations must go to Peter Gibbons who competed in the Celtic International Cross Country in Edinburgh Scotland at the weekend finishing in 8th place overall with the Ulster team finishing in silver medal position.
