Mooney new National Indoor 1500 metres champion

PRIDE of place at the weekend goes to our new National indoor 1500 metres champion, Danny Mooney. The Liverpool based student won the title with an impressive 3.52.83 final win-just two seconds ahead of his clubmate-Ruairi Finnegan (3.54.84).

This is a remarkable achievement by the ever improving Danny who is getting stronger by the week. Well done also to Dan King who finished in a time of 4.08 in the final.

Elsehwere our Olympic hopeful Maria McCambridge was second in a 10k (3.35) at the weekend while at the National Indoors the evergreen, Pauric McKinney, set a new national Over-45 record in the 3,000 metres with a time of 8.59.66.

Congratulations to Ciaran Doherty who recorded a new PB at 3000m indoors 8.33.93 a great run.
